Five favourite crafty tools / items
Hello everyone!
today sharing my top 5 favourite crafty tools / items.
So while preparing for this blog post I thought it will be hard to find 5 item and to call them favourite :) when I start crafting I don't think that I used this, or that because are my favourites , I just grab the things and make my cards :)) I know this might sound crazy but I craft at night :)) after my 3 kids sleep and after I do all the other chores I have :)
But how ever here are some of the things that I use almost every time I get to craft :
First I will start with
1. Inks
My most used ink was Memento tuxedo black ink, and I still like it but I was searching for an ink that I am able to used both with Alcohol Markers and water colors . So I found My favourite things Hybrid ink and it became instant my favourite ! Love the idea of having only one black ink that I can use for both markers or watercolors , because my space is limited :)
Next on top of my list are Distress inks
I used the on all my cards I am pretty addicted to ink blending and every time I am able I will do a bit of ink blending . I don't own all the colors but here are my most used ones , and if I will need another color I will use my Memento dew drops inks which are also easy to blend , affordable and come into a variety of colours .
Versa Mark ink , Heat gun and embossing powders
Ok I couldn't mention inks without saying that Versa Mark along with embossing powders and heat gun is a really must have :)
Love how you can make a sentiment pop from a dark background using white embossing powder , or how you can add details to a coloured background just by stamping using Versa mark without heat setting or using embossing powder .
One of the techniques that I used pretty often is embossing and then water coloring . This is one of my favourites .
And because I am talking about inks I need to talk about coloring mediums and my favourites are
2. Alcohol Markers - Spectrum Noir Alcohol markers
For me these markers are the most used . I always tend to grab them first for coloring an image . They are affordable , come in a variety of colors and bled beautiful together .
But just a little thing to keep in mind with this markers : when I first purchase these they had refills , which was amazing in my opinion , but currently they discontinued the reffils and I don't know when/ if they will bring them back
Water coloring - Stabilo Markers
This will may surprise you , since Zigs markers are very popular now , but I really enjoy using Stabilo Markers when it comes to water color with markers . They are cheap , can be found at the local crafting store and they come in a variety of colours.
On watercolor paper they blend beautifuly and you can choosed if to use water or just blend the colors together just like Zig markers .
One thing to keep in mind with this markers is that they only blend with watercolor paper and that their colours will fade with time .
Pencils - Polychromos
So this ones are some currently favourites . I can now say that they are amazing and that I am very impressed with the result . While thinking which brand of pencils I should buy most people recommended Polychromos , and now I understand why : they are high quality pencils , they have a large variety of colours and the final result is simply amazing .
One thing to keep in mind is that layering the colours with the pencils may take some time , so try to be patient and don't add too much pressure .
Also I really enjoy using Gel pens to add details to the images that I color. So the black gel pen is amazing for adding eye details and the white gel pen I use to add highlights and dots to the cheeks
3. Big Shot and dies
Now something that make me love a lot more card making and definitely a game changer is Big Shot maschine and the dies . The finished look that you get by die cutting your panels , words dies , border dies I very hard to achieve by using your scissors .3. Big Shot and dies
My currently most used dies are this 2 from Craftin Desert Divas , which I really think they are must have
Crazy Stitched frame dies
Fancy frame dies
4. Glue
Something that I really enjoy using is Glossy accents which is perfect to adhere your images or panels but also works very well with adding details to your projects . I am also loving Multi Medium Matte but currently I used it all ( need to order more :)) it's perfect to adhere sequins and acetate because dries matt
5. Embellishments
I really like my cards to be simple , and not really use lots of embellishments but recently discovered Nuvo drops and I love the look of them . I like that you can put them straight to your project or how I did here ( put them on a piece of acetate and let them dry 24 h and then adhere them to the projects )
Sequins
Probably my most used embellishments are the Sequins I love to use them for my cards to add a finished look to the card or use them for the shaker cards.
Now just want to share with you how my finished card look
Hope you like it
